Our council is North Yorkshire Council, a unitary authority that replaces the old NY district councils. Use the NYC website for planning issues.

Sports field and play area
There is a cricket pitch and pavilion, tennis courts, boule pitch and children’s play area located in the old quarry at the top of the hill in Grafton.
Trains
The closest trains stations are:
- Cattal (11 mins drive from here) (free parking): regular service to either York (20 – 24 mins) or Leeds, and beyond.
- Pannal (22 mins drive from here) (pay parking): this is a quicker option to get to Leeds (30 mins) and beyond.
- York (31 mins and 15 mls drive from here): east coast mainline trains.
- Thirsk (24 mins and 16 mls drive from here): east coast mainline trains. Probably quicker than going into York? Parking less expensive than York.
